Garage Sale Scrapbook Style!
Hello everyone! Its Felix and I have hijacked Dee's Blog to bring you some awesome news.
Tomorrow, Saturday the 19th is Dee's birthday. OK, so that might not be that relevant to you, but what should be is the layout of the Scrappersaurus Garage-Sale Scrapbook Style Event! We are discounting just about every scrapbook item we have for sale to or below wholesale cost. We are setting up our dining area like a mini-store and have lots of brand new scrapbook items that we just do not want to move. So, come on by, 7am to 2pm at 19 Trace Loop, Mandeville, LA 70448. Get lost? Call 504-812-2261.

Garage Sale THIS SATURDAY, 12/05/09
Okay, y'all asked for it, now you got it--THIS Saturday, December 5th, we will have our garage sale!
Felix and I are anticipating moving sometime next week (fingers crossed!), and Saturday we are going to sell as much as we can so when we get to the new house we can set up the online store with completely different, brand-new products. Of course, we will also have regular garage-sale items, such as TVs, DVD players, VHS players, other miscellaneous electronics, clothing, kitchen appliances, glassware, dinnerware, etc., etc., etc. The craft items will be both new, unused products as well as crop room tools and class supplies. ALL offers will be considered, so don't be afraid to ask! We will have a ton of items marked at or below wholesale prices, so be sure to come with your wish lists and stock up on things you like and use a lot, or items people have requested for Christmas gifts.
The time is 9:00 AM until we run out of stuff to sell. NO EARLY BIRDS!!! We need to be able to put the stuff out properly so you can see everything, so please be considerate and wait until 9:00 AM! Trust me, there's LOTS to go around!!! The address is 19 Trace Loop, Mandeville, LA. We're in the Greenleaves subdivision off Hwy. 190. If you need driving directions, you can get them by clicking this link (or copying and pasting it into your browser): http://www.mapquest.com/ and inputting your address as the starting point, and the ending address as 19 Trace Loop, Mandeville, LA. It's fairly easy to get here from the Southshore or I-12 or Hwy. 190 north of Mandeville. Be sure to take your cell phone with you when you come, and have our phone number (504-258-1718) programmed in so if you need additional help getting here, you can call us.
We look forward to seeing everybody, and hope you can make it. If it rains, things will be set up in the garage and maybe even in the house. We'll see how it goes as it gets closer to Saturday.
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

Scrappersaurus Online Purchasing / Cricut Disney Workshop
Alright, have you registered for Scrap Pink 2009 yet?
It is great to see so many of you have joined the Scrappin' In The Streetcar Meetup Group with me. I will finally be able to just "play" with all of you, instead of being stuck behind the register, longing to have some fun. I've offered to do workshops for the Meetup members, so we'll see how that goes. Plus, I've signed up for their awesome Recipe Swap again. This past one was really great, and we got to see so many different crafting styles and types of recipes. I can't wait to get to work on my next set of recipes!!!
Most of you have already seen the Yahoo! Group post by Felix that our products can now be found on ebay and Amazon. A lot of you have called, texted, and written me asking how to access our products on these two venues. THE PRODUCTS AND PRICES ARE EXACTLY THE SAME--they use the same catalog of items that we have on our webstore, so if you are going to shop our products, just go directly to our website and shop. It will more than likely save you a lot of time by searching for your specific needs through our tabbed sections (plus, it will be less expensive for us!), and you will also get the chance to click over to the Blog and see what's going on, while you're on the website. Remember, you can purchase your products from us by going to the website (http://www.Scrappersaurus.com/) and clicking on the PURCHASE ONLINE button at the top left of the front page.
I've had a request for a Cricut Disney workshop in Metairie. Anyone else interested? If so, please e-mail me, post a comment here, or call me at 504-258-1718 to let me know. Please tell me if you would prefer to come for a daytime or evening class, and which day of the week works best for you. As soon as I get more feedback, I'll schedule it and post the date, time, and place here on my blog.
I'm putting up a new Tip/Technique on the website tonight. Remember to keep checking for new Tips and Techniques, and that you can submit your own Tips and Techniques for me to put on the website.
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

ScrapPink 2009 by Scrappin In The Streetcar
Okay, people... YOU HAVE ONLY A FEW MORE DAYS TO SIGN UP FOR SCRAP PINK 2009!!! It is NEXT WEEKEND, SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 26TH!!! IN KENNER LOUISIANA!!!!! This is a most excellent cause. Breast cancer can be deadly if not caught early (and even then, in some cases it just doesn't matter). We need to help the researchers to have the money they need to find a cure for this awful disease. And we can all do our part in helping them get the funds needed by signing up and attending the Scrap Pink 2009 hosted by Scrappin In The Streetcar. Links are provided with tonight's post so you can go directly to their website and read all the info on what we will be doing that day, as well as find a registration form. If you are able to, please also download and print the flyers out and hang them in a most conspicuous spot at your place of employment. Surely, most employers shouldn't have a problem with that.

Felix's Birthday, Scrap Pink 2009, Best Creations, Crafter's Workshop...
Yesterday was Felix's birthday and we took him to Bosco's Italian Cafe (again!) for dinner. As usual, it was outstanding. I had the shrimp and pasta, Emery had the lasagna (to die for!), Cassie had the penne pasta with Alfredo and they added chicken to it, and Felix simply got the Salami and Provolone Pannini. We did not get dessert, though, because when we returned home, we presented Felix with his cake, as Emery was kind enough to go to Gambino's on Veterans Blvd. in Metairie and get a lemon/chocolate Doberge cake!!! In all, we had a really great, relaxed day.
In other news, I received MORE new products yesterday!!! Best Creations has gorgeous Halloween-themed papers that I simply HAD to get, and then Reminisce has some velvet-textured TIGER PRINT paper that looks and feels like real tiger fur!!! We restocked some of the Bazzill cardstock colors, including the embossed ones. Remember, we have the Vines, Flowers, and Bubbles embossed patterns in several colors. Plus, we got in new New Orleans iron-on images--it says New Orleans on it and it's a feathered mask--beautiful! We also got in NEW Crafter's Workshop templates with several Fleur de Lis cutouts and other images. Very, very nice. I think I'm going to have to make a sample with that one so people can see just what you can do with it. You know, you can use Crafter's Workshop templates for just about any type of stenciling you might need: scrapbooking, stamping, card-making, spritzing, quilting, home decor, etc. LOTS of uses out of just one little template!
Today I placed another order that included new Basic Grey collection packs, American Craft glitter buttons, Doodlebug Designs sugared brads, and MORE!!!
I'm almost finished with putting the kits/grab bags together. There will be themes for just about anything you can imagine: baby boy, baby girl, adoption, twins, home improvement, European travel, Caribbean travel, South American travel, general road trip, Red Hat Society, Birthday, Easter, Christmas, Halloween, etc., etc., etc.!!! I think you get the picture!!! Cassie is supposed to be coming over today to help me finish them, and to help me work on the webstore. She's really great with computers, and very knowledgeable when it comes to putting papers and embellishments together, and I'm so glad to have her help. Emery will be busy scanning a 12x12 scrapbook album for a customer and burning it to a CD for her, and will also be working on getting some more of those Streetcar Lasercuts in for us. In all, it promises to be another full day.
Scrappersaurus is a proud sponsor of Scrap Pink 2009 hosted by Scrappin in the Streetcar, a local Meetup group. Here's a link so you can visit it to check out what they have scheduled, and also to register: http://scrappink.kincke.com/. Again, I don't have to tell you what a worthwhile cause this is. I personally know six (6) women who have breast cancer, three (3) of whom had to have bilateral radical mastectomies with reconstructive surgery. Breast cancer is nothing to fool around with, and if you haven't had your annual mammogram, NOW is the time to stop everything and go schedule it. According to what I've heard recently (remember, I'm NOT a doctor) breast cancer is treatable in most cases, with a very high survival rate if you have it diagnosed early enough and follow proper treatment set out by your physician. Please don't be a statistic, and don't make that number of women I know with breast cancer increase. Please take care of yourself and take it upon yourself to get up and go get it done NOW to possibly save yourself and your family and loved ones the absolute devastation and despair that generally comes with that sort of a diagnosis. Ok, thank you. I feel a lot better now. I'll climb off my soap box.
Ahem... well, I'm off to finish kits and see what other trouble I can get into. I hope you all have a wonderful day. Remember, I might not see the majority of you all anymore, but it doesn't mean I don't think about you or care about you. Please feel free to drop me a line or call me (504-258-1718). I miss you all so much!
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

Tiger Print "X", Best Creation Papers, Cricut Cartridge Rentals, Custom Orders & Bulk Discounts
Alright all you LSU fans out there... have I got something FUN for YOU!!! Xyron has come out with NEW Animal Print 1.5" Create-A-Sticker (most of you know it as the Xyron "X") in Zebra, Giraffe and...wait...wait...YES, TIGER SKIN PRINT!!! Whooo hooo!!! You can find it for sale on our website under the Adhesives Tab. I LOVE IT!!! Of course, I HAD to have one for my very own!!!
We have more new Best Creations papers in: gorgeous Asian-themed papers that have the sealed glitter accents on one side and a print on the other side of this heavy weight paper. We have restocked some of the popular ones that we had run out of, and also got in what I call Family Den paper, which is two pages that when put together appear to be a scene of someone's living room (see images above post), complete with a window looking out into a beautiful sky scene, and a sideboard with pictures of a palm tree and beach shells, and a small plant. On the opposite page there is a small cluster of three pictures--one a seashell, one a palm tree, and one a sky scene. I absolutely LOVE these two papers, and cannot wait to create something with them. Just looking at them I get tons of ideas!!!
We are putting the Custom School papers up on the website soon, so be looking for your school. If you don't see it, please e-mail or call us to see if it is available but not yet on the website, or maybe just out of stock.
Also, remember that Scrappersaurus RENTS CRICUT CARTRIDGES locally for three (3) days for only $5.00. That's right--ONLY FIVE DOLLARS for three days of cutting out any and all images you can imagine. We currently have about 36 different cartridges, with some having more than one on hand (from combining the Northshore and Southshore stores' stock). These are both alphabet and image cartridges. Check out the website to see which ones we have already. And, of course, more are on the way!
As usual, we are constantly getting new products in and constantly researching to find you the best products at the best prices. Remember, WE HAVE LOCAL DELIVERY NORTHSHORE AND SOUTHSHORE for our customers. All you have to do is place your order and in the Comments section, put DELIVERY. OR, just e-mail us (scrappersaurus@yahoo.com) or call us (504-258-1718) and we can get your order right out to you. Plus, we still do custom orders, as well as bulk discounts for those of you who are creating invitations, cards, or simply purchase in large quantities for your scrap group or students. All you have to do is ask!!!
Well, I'm off to do more research and place more orders. For those of you attending the crop this weekend, remember you can still stock up on adhesives, tools, and cardstock from us beforehand so you won't go over budget while there. We will not be attending that crop this time. We look forward to hearing from you, and wish you a wonderful week.
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

Remembering Senator Kennedy & New Products
I don't normally talk about political things in this blog, but I just wanted to pay respect to the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy. His list of accomplishments that are well-known to most of the world is long, but there is another one that many do not know of. He was a real person, and helped real people. I know firsthand, because he helped ME. About 25 or so years ago, I was having an extremely difficult time getting assistance for my son--who was born with an extremely rare condition--and kept getting the runaround, instead of help. Every agency I turned to, it seemed, wanted to pass me off to another agency, and nobody wanted to help us. After much frustration and many tears, I wrote to Senator Kennedy's office, and they personally called me to speak with me and see what our needs were, and to see how they could help. They said the Senator felt it important that my son get the assistance he rightly deserved and so badly needed, and so they were calling to find out more details to see what they could do. With their help and knowledge of different agencies and departments, they were instrumental in putting me in touch with the right people at the right time, and I was finally able to get my son the medical assistance he needed in order to thrive and grow into the wonderful, self-sufficient and independent person he is today. Without Senator Kennedy's assistance, I doubt I would have found the people I needed on my own. So, thank you, Senator Kennedy and staff, for helping me to obtain the assistance I needed that allowed my son to grow up to be the wonderful, independent person he is today. It is greatly, greatly appreciated!
Now, for Scrappersaurus news...
We have new LSU Chipboard Albums in, along with more Bourbon Street and New Orleans Chipboard Albums. We have a new shipment of all sizes of red line tape, Glue Dots in all different sizes and types--including the Dot N Go dispensers, and the Pioneer Glue Sticks (the ONLY glue stick we recommend or sell). We also now have Long-Reach Button Punches, and are awaiting a backorder of the Long-Reach Ribbon Punches--you may, however, place a preorder for those.
Speaking of preorders, we are taking preorder and prepayment for the new ProvoCraft Cricut Gypsy, which is a handheld version of the Design Studio software that you just take with you to crops with your Cricut instead of dragging your laptop around, too. The Gypsy looks kind of like a palm pilot and is getting rave reviews. Please e-mail us (scrappersaurus@yahoo.com) or call us (504-258-1718) to place your order TODAY because trust me, there's going to be a BIG rush on these!!! To see it and get a better idea of whether or not it will work for you, go to this link: http://www.provocraft.com/products/index.products.php?cl=gypsy.
We want to thank all of you who are continuing to support us through your online and phone and e-mail orders with us. We love you too!!!
Remember that we have the new Tips & Techniques section on the website, and if you don't see it when you go to the website, you may need to refresh your bookmark to get to the updated website. If you have difficulty doing this, please just give us a call or e-mail us, and we can walk you through it. We want you to be able to see all the hard work we've been putting in lately!
Until next time,
Happy Scrapping and Stamping!

Scrappersaurus Tips & Techniques finally here!
Okay, Felix and I finally got the first Tips & Techniques up on the website, so go to the website and check it out! We felt it would be a good "first" because it addresses something so many of us here in Louisiana worry about: Hurricane Preparedness for Crafters! Again, we welcome any comments or suggestions for this section. If YOU have something you would like to contribute, please call me at 504-258-1718 or e-mail me at Scrappersaurus@Yahoo.com.
We now have a super sale section on the webstore, with products we are trying to clearance to make way for more new products. It's a good time to scoop up some items you've been thinking about getting, but haven't gotten around to until now. Remember that you can check out directly via the website, or you can call or e-mail your order and either mail a check, money order, or pay with a credit card over the phone. PLEASE DO NOT E-MAIL CREDIT CARD INFORMATION to us!!! While our webstore check-out system is extremely secure, regular e-mail is NOT!!! And don't forget that we have local delivery on BOTH the Northshore and Southshore!!!
Saturday was rather exciting for me, personally. I was invited to join the New Orleans Sassy Stampers for their monthly meeting. I finally learned how to make a piano hinge book, something Marlane Mayo had taught several times for us, but I was never able to participate to learn how to do it. It is really rather easy, once you "get" how to put it together. The Sassy Stampers were so kind and welcoming, and I am really looking forward to their next meeting. I will be the one leading the project, and I will be teaching how to make your own "shaker boxes". I'll post a pic of our finished project after that meeting next month.
Well, off to working on orders for new products for the online store!
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

New Items on Scrappersaurus website!!! & Local Delivery of Scrapbook Supplies!
Felix has been working feverishly (yeah,if you can imagine THAT! LOL!) to add new items to the Webstore. Of course, I've been hounding him to do more, more, more, and he's doing his best. It's just going to be a slow process. Unfortunately, we can't both work on the website at the same time, so we just have to do things one at a time. Which is probably best, anyway!
Okay, so some of the new items he has added include STAR WARS SCRAPBOOK KITS, DOODLEBUG SUGAR PAPER IN DIFFERENT DESIGNS, ANIMAL PRINT XYRON Xs, PIONEER GLUE STICKS (the ONLY glue stick that we will sell... it's guaranteed!) and SPELLBINDERS MARDI GRAS EMBOSSING AND CUTTING DIES!!! So much more is coming. CHA, although we were unable to attend due to Scrap-N on the River, was a blast according to our personal friends and reps! We will be introducing, selling, and SUPPORTING some really cool things on the horizon! Just a HINT - CRACKLE EMBOSSING PASTE! WAIT until you see this!
And remember! We are doing LOCAL delivery or meet you at Starbucks on 190 for all you locals!
The Spellbinders Mardi Gras dies have been discontinued by the manufacturer, which is so sad because they are really fantastic, I think, and we only have a handful of them left. If you are not familiar with Spellbinders dies, they not only cut, but they emboss and can be used as a stencil, too. They are considered "universal dies" because they work with the Sizzix, QuicKutz, Revolution, Cuttlebug, and most other manual die cutting machines. For more information on their wonderful products, go to their website: http://spellbinderspaperarts.com/ and check out just what you can do with them. Of course, you can always order their products from US, for less!
On a more personal note, I want to tell you all about the most fabulous Italian restaurant I have been to in a LOOOOONG time! It is called Bosco's Italian Cafe, and it is located on Highway 59 near the intersection with Highway 1088, on the West side of the highway. Oh-My-Goodness!!! I had the lasagna which, when it was brought out to me, I couldn't believe the size of the portion served. I asked my waitress, Suzanne, (who was wonderful) if one person was expected to eat the whole thing. She simply laughed and then put down Felix's Veal something or other! It was the special, and OMGosh, it was! Well, when Felix took a bite of his, his eyes pretty much rolled into the back of his head and I thought he was going to drop right there. I took a bite of my lasagna, and I'm sure I did the same thing. The first thing it made me think of was growing up in a mostly Italian/Sicilian family, and how this was the CLOSEST I have EVER come to having restaurant food taste like "home cooked, REAL Italian" food. It was spectacular! If you are in the area, treat yourself to the finest we've ever had. Sorry, Mama, but this may be better than yours! LOL! When you go, please tell them you heard about their cafe on this blog. I promised them I'd tell them how wonderful they were, and that I would ask our customers to let them know they heard of them from US. As a business, it is always helpful to know where your best advertising comes from, and when it comes from another customer, YOU KNOW YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB!!!

Scrap-N-on the River 2009
Scrap-N-on the River was AWESOME!!! No, it was OUTSTANDING!!! We just love Pam and her family, and love being a vendor for that crop. We've already booked our spot for next year (the dates will be July 22, 23, and 24, 2010) and are looking forward to it. We saw so many loyal customers who visit us every event we attend, and it was so nice to visit with them after not seeing them for a while. Of course, I had issues with my back, and didn't even get to go to the Convention Center on Friday, but Saturday made up for it. And, we got a steak dinner on Saturday, that was really great. Momma cooked it all, and we just love her cookin'! She worked so hard, and we really appreciate all the time and effort she put into making a wonderful meal for us for that last evening of fun. The proceeds for the dinner went to the Jerry D. Roberts Scholarship, which was set up by Pam's family in honor and memory of her beloved baby brother, who was killed unexpectedly in a plane crash in December of 2006. Pam works very hard all year 'round to prepare for the event every July, and it is always a pleasure to attend, both as a vendor and as a cropper. She really goes out of her way to see to it that everyone has a great time (which they always do!) and nobody goes home empty-handed. This year she had Lisa Bearnsen to do workshops for her, and take pictures and sign autographs. Lisa almost didn't make it to the crop, though, because she and her daughter were involved in an auto accident right before the crop. But, being the trooper she is, Lisa came anyway! We were all so glad Lisa and her daughter were alright, and able to make it!
Today we moved the rest of our belongings out of the Mandeville store. It was very sad to have to let it go, but it appears (from all of your feedback) that everybody is shopping online now, and it only seems to be the right direction to head into. Especially at this point in time, what with my health issues lately.
I've been in touch with my sales reps this week (remember, this week was Summer CHA, the world tradeshow where they release all the Fall product lines) and OMG the things they are coming out with!!! Plus, there are new companies out there that we apparently just HAVE to carry, and as soon as I get my hands on the actual products from the reps, I'll post a link so you can pre-order them from us.
We are still working on getting things squared away at the home-store, and are working on getting the Cricut up and running again, as well as the Epson, so we can cut and scan for you, just like before. We should have it finished some time next week, so if you need us to scan something and print or color-correct, or retouch it, or burn it to a CD, just let us know. Remember, the new phone number is 504-258-1718. And yes, we still have the Cricut cartridges to rent. I'm going to work on having Felix put up a page on the webstore where you can choose which cartridge you want to rent, and reserve it.
We still have all the products that were in the store (well, most of them, because Emery and Felix tried to sell them ALL in Natchez!!!), so if there's something you need and don't see it on the webstore yet, PLEASE JUST CALL OR E-MAIL ME!!! It's that simple. We can meet you somewhere to give you your order, or mail it Priority, or even deliver it to your home or business (call for more info on that). We still take cash, checks, money orders, debit cards, and credit cards. And PayPal, and you DO NOT have to have a PayPal account to pay us through PayPal. If you want to pay with a credit card over the phone, that's available too. JUST CALL!!!
Layout of the Month will continue next month, and we plan to ship those out August 29th. Emery and I are working on putting together a crop for the LOTM workshop on both the Northshore and Southshore, and we'll e-mail participants directly as well as post if we can get it together in time for August's LOTM.
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

Countdown Has Begun!
Well, almost all of the displays and slatwall are already sold, and a LOT of the merchandise we had in stock has been purchased along with them! Yes, we do have tons more to bring to Scrap-N-on the River next week, so don't worry about that! People have been calling and "reserving" items, especially Kokuyo refill cases, so if there's something special that you want us to bring, NOW is the time to call or e-mail and let us know!
The online store is up and running at the house now, and I've been busy filling orders every day. Of course, I've also been busy placing orders for more stuff! As we get new products in, we will send out posts, just like when the storefront was open. We also have a lot of online activities planned, and are in the process of changing a lot of things on the website to make it easier to navigate, and to give you more information on products you can order. And we have a lot of FUN that we're trying to work into it all! We will have LOCAL DELIVERY for our faithful customers who normally would come into the store to purchase from us, and who are now ordering from us online. Just one of the perks of being a great customer!
I want to thank everybody who has shopped with Scrappersaurus, since it's inception. We have seen YOU grow, just as you have seen US grow, and it has been a very wonderful experience. I will miss the weekend crops every Saturday, however, we do have plans in the works to hold crops in the future, once things settle down and everything is operating as it should be.
To those of you who have called, written, or stopped by to wish me well and let me know that I had a lot of people praying for me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is so very much appreciated, and I want you to know that every one of you is important to me, as a person and a friend--not just a "customer". Together, over the past few years, we have built a great relationship, and your caring concern at this very difficult time in my life means so much to me. My back surgery has been postponed until I get cardiac clearance now, but things are looking up, and I am very hopeful that it will all work out for the best. Your prayers, I'm sure, have had a lot to do with my greatly improving health. Thank you!
I will see you all next week at Scrap-N-on the River!
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

Scrappersaurus Online and New Inventory
Greetings, Scrappersaurus-ers!!!
We have had outstanding feedback from you, letting us know that you will continue to shop with us once we become and online-only store!!! As you can imagine, I'm elated! You know how much I love bringing y'all the latest and greatest, and the more unique products that are really hard to find. It still thrills me when a customer brings in a finished product made with items purchased through US!!! It makes me feel like all the hard (VERY hard!) work we do in researching to find y'all great stuff is really worth the effort. Thank you!
Our last day to have the storefront open will be July 21st. We have to be set up and ready to roll in Natchez for the Scrap-N-on the River event on July 23rd, and we need time to pack and get up there, unpack, set up, and be ready for another outstanding event. After the show, whatever inventory is left will be brought back straight to our mini-store in our house. No, sorry, you won't be able to come and shop in my house, but you can shop what's IN my house, online. Remember, we are a smoke-free home, so you never have to worry about that! I have two rooms set up already, and am doing my best to work on them every day to get them more ready so we won't have much "downtime" between closing the storefront and having the online store with everything online.
We will continue to offer invitation and scrapbook creation services for those who desire it, and I will continue to do one-on-one workshops with people as they request. I will even come to your home or school (or business if you have a nice boss!) and teach a workshop or bring product (or both), as I am able to. Just call or write and let me know what you are wanting. We will continue to have the Layout of the Month workshops--on both the Southshore and Northshore--and I will announce the locations and dates before we close the storefront.
I will have Felix update the website calendar next week. This week his pool team is playing in Regionals, and they're hoping to get to go to Las Vegas in August to play in tournaments there. Keep your fingers crossed, it's a lifelong dream for him!!! He's finally on a team again that is truly serious about playing, and who WANT to win. He was with several members of this team many years ago, and they did go to Las Vegas once. Those of you who shopped with us in the first store, pre-Katrina, may remember the layout he did of it, with the original newspaper article and his picture in it. Unfortunately, Katrina washed it away, and now all he has are memories of that time, but he's hoping to make new memories and get in the paper again, and make another layout! THIS time, it's going to be copied digitally, so if something happens, we'll still have the article!
Did I mention that we have the new-release small masks by Tim Holtz? Or the Tiny Attacher that is like a mini mini-stapler? It's absolutely adorable, and so much neater than those standard size or mini staples. Plus, its handles are more like pliers than a regular stapler is usually shaped. Very comfortable on the hand, and very handy in the crop room!
We also have a re-stock of StazOn re-inkers, Mini Misters, Tim Holtz Fragments and Retractible Knives, and yes, more Stickles!!!
We also have purple, green, and gold sealed-glitter papers that match our Mardi Gras lines. These are wonderful. They don't leave glitter all over your Cricut mat when you cut them, like the Sugar Papers do. They are very bright, and heavy cardstock weight. We LOVE them, and know you will too!
Keeping with the New Orleans theme, we have new crawfish paper in 8.5x11 paper. It is a scene of a man crawfishing, with the crawfish traps. Absolutely precious! And, we also have completely NEW brads, and even a real GOLD fleur de lis brad! It's a different kind of gold than the ones we've had before.
The company that makes the Scor-Pal has come out with a Scor-Bug. It is a retractable rolling wheel that rides in the channels of your Scor-Pal, creating perforations. The designs on vellum made with it are outstanding!!! Come in and check it out for yourself!
The Speakin' Up Voice Recorders are now back in stock (it's hard to keep those in, regardless of how large an order we place). We also have the Ribbon Purses back in stock, too, in several different colors.
And, even more great news: The Kokuyo Tape-N Roller and Dot'N Roller REFILLS are back in stock! Talk about a slow boat from China! LOL! It seemed like it took forever for that boat to dock and for them to clear Customs. But, we have them in, in large quantities, again.
California UnDu is in stock, as well, so if you live in California and have been looking for UnDu, we have the special formulation that we can now ship to you (legally!). Same great product, same acid-free, non-smear, non-run, quick-dry formula--just now created to meet your EPA standards and whatnot.
Whew!!! That's a lot to remember, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch, too. So, come on in, and see, feel, touch what you can while we still have the storefront. Ask for the sale of the day when come, to make sure you get the best prices!
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

Change is on the Horizon for Scrappersaurus
I know, I know... I haven't blogged in what seems like forever. Sorry. Things have a way of getting in the way, and before you realize it, it's been too long. Hopefully, this post will catch everybody up.
National Scrapbook Day was absolutely fantastic! We had a wonderful group of people who had a great time throughout the day, playing games, eating food from Pontchartrain Poboys, and doing make-and-takes. A lot of customers also participated in the great make-and-takes when they came in to shop. Karen Foster Design really came through for us, and so did Bo Bunny and Lou! We had tons of giveaways, and also gave all the participants different "alterables". I think they had a lot of fun with those. So many people do not realize exactly what an "alterable" is...and they certainly learned then! One lady did a most awesome pirate-themed box, another did an altered purse...all kinds of things!
On another, more serious note now. I have finally decided to go ahead and have the surgeries on my back. (Yes, that was plural--I need two separate procedures done.) That will make it pretty much impossible to run a storefront while I am recuperating, and I'll need Felix and Emery to help me personally, and with our house and pets. This means that Scrappersaurus will be closing its storefront by August 1st, and becoming strictly an online store. You will still be able to get your Kokuyo Dot'N Roller and Tape'N Roller refills from us, because we're not going anywhere, and we'll ship them to you or you can come pick them up from us! We will continue to specialize in and stock the local themes: New Orleans, Mardi Gras, Louisiana, southern, fleur de lis, LSU, etc. We will also continue the Layout of the Month Club, as we have Design Team members who are willing to pitch in and help out while I am unable to work on it myself. Our Design Team members are extremely creative and very helpful, and I know their assistance will be greatly appreciated by both Scrappersaurus as well as the LOTM members.
Also, economically-speaking, it simply is no longer financially viable for us to have a brick-and-mortar store. We have a thriving online business, and honestly some days we do better online than we do in the storefront. Felix is teaching me how to work on the website with him, and as we get new products in, we will be scanning them and adding them to the webstore. We will continue to bring you new products, and to include new techniques with them in the Layout of the Month kits. We have a few die-hard customers who are really pushing us to find means to continue to meet for workshops locally, and we are looking into that option. We have been with you since 2004, and now, five years later, you are ingrained in our hearts as well as our lives. We want to continue to be a part of your life, and an integral part of your crafting supplies and education sources. We love you!!!
I have not yet scheduled my surgeries, and I will not do so until the storefront is completely closed. I will post when the time draws near, as many of you have asked me to. I thank you for all your prayers and good wishes. They are very much needed and very much appreciated!
YES, WE WILL STILL BE A VENDOR AT SCRAP'N ON THE RIVER!!! We will bring tons of products, some of which are new releases that I can't wait to get my hands on! Make sure you come see us in Natchez and check out the new stuff! I will not be able to work the booth, but Emery and Felix will, and I will do demonstrations throughout the day as my back allows. I look forward to seeing you all! This is a VERY fun event, and although it has a good number of attendees, it still seems "close and personal". Pam Frank is a wonderful person, and she puts on one heck of an event! Scrappersaurus has a table in front of the booth reserved for customers who request to sit near us. If you have not yet called or emailed us to be seated at our table, please do so immediately--we don't want anybody left out!
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, National Scrapbook Day, & New Products
TATTERED ANGELS GLIMMER MIST...
Do I have your attention? A customer came in today and couldn't believe all the Glimmer Mists we have. She said that product was difficult to find to purchase at a local cropping event held here in Mandeville recently, after a class was given using it. She recommended I let people know we have them, via the blog. How sad that we didn't get any phone calls requesting it--it was in stock the entire time. Thanks, N., for the heads-up!
By the way, we also have the Chatterbox Tag Alongs--you know, the cup holders that attach to your table or desk while you're cropping. A lot of people DID call for those, and came and bought a bunch. Good thing we stocked up! There's about 4 left, so if you didn't get yours, better hurry in. We'll hold one for you if you call with payment information. Otherwise, it's first-come, first-served! These cup holders practically pay for themselves when you consider the cost of a ruined page or pages if you accidentally tip over a drink while you're cropping. That's why we provide cup holders at our crop tables here at the store. We certainly don't want any accidents like that!
Well, we only have a couple of spots left for National Scrapbook Day. Our Make and Takes are together, and we have some really nice prizes. Our ProvoCraft sales rep is trying to get us a Cricut cartridge as one of our prizes, so if you own a Cricut, you just might want to come see what all the fuss is about! We'll have outstanding goodie bags, and some really fun games. We have a Mary Kay representative coming to give all the attendees a mini facial and hand treatments, and she'll be bringing her own goodie bags for everyone. And, remember we're having it catered by Pontchartrain Poboys. NOBODY does seafood and poboys better than these people!!!
For those of you who will not be able to participate in the day-long event, you WILL be able to participate in the Make and Takes if you are shopping with us at the time. We will be using new products, and the M&T projects completed will also be useful to you later on.
We received new products in recently from Creative Imaginations and a few other companies. Bo Bunny just shipped the matching rubons, buttons, ribbons, and stickers to go with the paper lines we got in a couple weeks ago; we expect those in hopefully by the end of the week. Die Cuts With a View embellishments for the La Creme line finally arrived..... and so much more...!!!
Things are really hopping at the store. We've got a lot of great workshops planned, so keep your eyes on the website calendar. Felix will be updating it later this week after we get the schedule finalized. We've had requests for different kinds of workshops, and we're trying to fit everybody's requests in. We've also had a lot of requests to restart the Card of the Month Club. That's on the way too, and as soon as we're ready to go with that, we'll announce it via this blog and by e-mail posts to you on the Yahoo! Group.
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

National Scrapbook Day Theme Revealed: Bling It On!!!
Alright, I know you've all been wondering what exactly we have up our sleeves, so to speak, for National Scrapbook Day. Well, here it is: BLING IT ON!!! We will be having a most awesome BLING SWAP, and every person who signs up will receive a "Glass Slipper" and special sash to decorate according to whatever theme they have been given (randomly). On National Scrapbook Day, the decorated sashes will be worn, and after we have our Glass Slipper Swap, we'll all vote for Blingerella! Yes, I did say GLASS SLIPPER SWAP. How, you might ask? Well, I guess you'll just have to come into the store to see for yourselves! This is sure to be the most fun we've ever had, and those of us "in the know" are just laughing hysterically thinking of what you all will come up with in answer to what we'll have you doing! Sign up NOW if you want to participate, so we can be sure to have enough sashes and slippers for everybody. We don't want anybody to be left out of all the fun and excitement!
We will also be having the event catered, by none other than Pontchartrain Poboys, right here in Mandeville! (Who'd have guessed, huh? I mean, we're only on a first-name basis with these guys!) Anyway, we will also have people bringing in dishes if they wish. Some of you make some really great stuff, and we're hoping you'll bring it again. It's not a requirement, but it just makes it all the more fun. You can bring cheese, crackers, chips, dip, special drinks (Nina, don't let us down, girl!), stuffed eggs, potato salad, chili, cookies, brownies, cheesecake, WHATEVER you like. If you think they'll eat it, bring it! We will supply the main course and the drinks for the entire day. And of course, THE FUN!!!
DON'T expect to get a lot of scrapbooking done at this event! At least, not in the conventional way... The swap will be truly the first of it's kind, and everybody will go home with Glass Slippers and lots of goodies! We have crazy games planned, and have a couple of make-and-takes ready just to get you thinking outside of the box.
The sashes and slippers will be ready to hand out by this weekend, and further instructions will be given at the time you sign up. CALL NOW to reserve YOUR spot!!!
(I told you we were having a bling sale for a reason!)
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

March is National Craft Month
March is National Craft Month!!!
This is the one month out of the year that we try extra-hard to set aside some time to craft with our families at least once a week. Crafting with your family helps you to learn to work together as a group, and also allows for increased self-confidence through self-expression. When a family crafts something together, they work towards a common goal, and every person's input is important, regardless of what specific tasks they have to complete to reach that goal. Everyone learns how important even the "little" stuff is, and feels satisfaction knowing they contributed to the end result. You don't have to put together a scrapbook album. You could make lawn or garden signs or stakes. Or a bird house. Or paint pottery. Or make a macrame hanging plant holder.
Learning to work with other people is extremely important in today's society, and while crafting might be overlooked by some as just a "leisure" activity, it is actually an excellent way to learn how to be a part of a team effort. It also allows us to see a different side of our family members, and find out just how creative they can be. And creativity is not just the ability to paint a beautiful portrait or make an Origami bird... it is also in problem-solving, learning to prioritize steps required to make something, and coordinate individuals' efforts to come to a common goal. And it gives us a chance to relax a bit and really enjoy time with our families doing something we know will mean more to us when it is completed simply because of the efforts that went into it, than what the final product will function as. Every time you look at something you have crafted with your family, you will be able to recall all the different steps it took for that project to be completed, and for it to look and function the way it does. And it will make you smile, remembering the laughter and learning along the way.
And, because most of you ARE papercrafters and photographers, remember to TAKE PICTURES while you're doing it! You could even do a mini-album on your projects for National Craft Month! There are papers and embellishments that would go with crafting, should you decide to do that. Ask us if you don't see them, and we'll point them out to you. We'll even help you make that mini-book, if you want to make your own, with whatever number of pages necessary. So many ideas...so little time...!!!
We have new products in the store that arrived today: BO-BUNNY's Grease Monkey and Pet Shop collections. If you click on the following two links or paste them into your browser, you'll be able to see the collections and a sample layout done with each of them, on the BO-BUNNY website: http://www.bobunny.com/januaryrelease/19petshop.pdf and http://www.bobunny.com/januaryrelease/17greasemonkey.pdf. We also received in new brads: pink bunnies, pastel Easter eggs, green frogs, white snowflakes, blue snowflakes, tan pawprints, black pawprints, and blue airplanes. These are in addition to the new brads Felix posted about last week.
Spring Bling Sale is through the end of March 2009! EVERYTHING bling is on sale 40% off (bling gemstones, bling words, bling brads, and Bazzill Bling cardstock).
NSD signups have begun... are YOU signed up???
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

Spring Bling Sale / National Scrapbook Day 2009 / Workshop Updates
Hey guys! I know it's been a long while since I've blogged and honestly I don't know where to begin... There's been so much going on at the store and with my family and in my personal life that I really haven't had the time or energy to blog. Sorry! I'm thinking I'll make it up to you with what I am going to call the Spring Bling Sale. EVERYTHING bling in the store (gems, brads, bling words, even Bling cardstock) will be 40% off, for the rest of the month of March. No coupon needed, and no coupons or other discounts accepted. And, no Scrappz cards redeemed for this sale nor Scrappz stamps given on the bling sale itself. You have to play fair!
People are already asking about National Scrapbook Day, which will be on Saturday, May 2nd. Of course we will be having our usual fun-filled day of celebration of our wonderful hobby. I'm not certain just how much actual "scrapbooking" will be accomplished, but you know lots of excitement will be happening! We will soon be releasing the details of this year's theme and contests we will be holding, so stay tuned to your e-mails or the blog. Last year we did a wonderful recipe swap that everybody adored. Apparently y'all love swaps, so we're going to give you a FANTASTIC one this year!!! Don't ask yet, because it's still a secret, but you will have time to get everything together and have it ready for NSD 2009! Plus, we'll be offering some discounts and incentives to help you along with the fun (hint: bling sale...shhh)! We also have some very special people coming into town to help our celebration, and honestly I'm not quite sure yet how we're going to fit everyone in the crop room, but I have a few ideas I'm working on. As soon as everything's set in stone, I'll let you know how it will work. PLEASE call or e-mail ASAP if you want to be in on this year's celebration. We will, of course, have the event catered as well as pot-luck (the mix is what makes it!) and have contests, prizes, games, and goodies for everybody. No one will go home empty-handed, we promise! We will challenge you in your craft like you've not been challenged before, and we know you'll LOVE IT!!! I'm really excited about it, and you know, May 2nd is only six (6) weeks away!!! So, get ready!
We have lots of classes already posted on the calendar, and there have been a couple of things rescheduled, so please check the calendar to make sure you have the latest info. Definitely remember to check the website calendar before you come in to shop because we sometimes have unadvertised sales or specials that you can only see in the calendar for that day, and you don't get the sale price or special offer unless you mention you saw it posted on the calendar.
In particular, we are now offering Home Decor project workshops using the Cricut. We have an absolutely stunning project scheduled for the first one, an etched glass frame that you will learn how to make yourself. Once you learn the technique and what products to purchase from us to do more, there's no limit to the possibilities of what you can do. Heather (our teacher for these workshops) will show you exactly what you need to know and do to create your own gorgeous home decoration projects and ways to decorate other things using your Cricut. And, if you don't already own a Cricut, we do sell them and even offer a very reasonable and affordable Lay-Away plan. We carry all the Cricut products, and support your purchase here 100%. Let us know what we can get for you. PLUS, we RENT CRICUT CARTRIDGES for $5.00 for three days. That's a lot of cutting for a very little amount of money! OR... you can come and use OUR Cricut here while you are cropping at the store. We only ask that you supply your own mat (which we do sell) because mats are considered consumables.
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

Marah Johnson Workshop / Crop Celebration Event
What can I say except, "OMG!!!" We had a most spectacular workshop today, taught by Marah Johnson herself...here...live...in person... You get the idea! She walked us through putting together the most adorable Safari Peek-A-Book (Creative Imaginations Bare Elements line--it has alternating pages with pullouts) using one of the many fantastic lines of paper that she designed herself. And, this lady is an absolute dynamo; she did a workshop earlier today at another store in Louisiana, and then came and did a fabulous workshop here, and was so chock-full of tips and tricks and hints and ideas. Everybody who participated absolutely loved it, and she let it slip that she'll be returning again in a few months. Again, "OMG!!!"
Marah is a most wonderful person, with a really great personality, so totally not pretentious like you may think some big-name designers would be. A very real, down-to-earth person that has the greatest stories that she tells while teaching the class. She and I agree that life is always an adventure, and you just never know what's going to happen or come along. Her story-telling is so enthusiastic that you feel like you were there when it happened, and that enthusiasm is just as evident in her teaching. She truly has a passion for papercrafting, and if I understood her correctly, her joy is in the teaching and showing people how to be creative. Her designs are funky and on-the-edge (an understatement, some say!) and so totally what I absolutely love. To my customers who know me well and have taken workshops with me and cropped with me, you KNOW I don't like to stay within the confines... Normal is boring! I love to take it over the edge, and Marah's lines do just that. We did have a huge display of her products, but many are already sold out, even before she gave the workshop! Awww, poor me, guess I'll have to order MORE!!! LOL
Anyway, I'm kinda punch drunk at this hour. I've crammed lots into the past week and today, especially. Emery laughed at me running around today trying to get everything straight in the store, and he said "Mama, you'd swear the President was coming! Calm down!" I guess I just wanted to make a nice impression for Marah. It's not every day that somebody famous that you absolutely adore actually walks into your store and does a workshop for you! So I wanted things to be "perfect", which of course things never are. But I think it was okay. She did compliment the store, and I laughed when she was "wowed" to see that we sell brads and eyelets individually instead of in packs. I told her not to go giving away my trade secrets, and to make people come here to Louisiana to purchase them from us!
In all, everybody had a wonderful time and Marah was so kind and gracious and put up with my yapping nonstop on the way back to the hotel. Hopefully she'll recover. I was just so excited to have her here!
Tomorrow at Noon we will have the second workshop taught by Marah, and we are really looking forward to that one too. Unfortunately she won't be able to hang out afterwards because her flight out is later in the day, but we are so excited and already planning on her return.
Also, on another note, tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday is the Crop Celebration Event in Hammond, Louisiana. Felix will be working the event until the store closes, and then I'll be joining him. Saturday I will be there, and have two classes scheduled. Please come out and join us for this most worthy cause. This is strictly a charity event with all proceeds from the crop going to the Restoration House Pregnancy Resource Center. Plus, it's just plain FUN! Lots of prizes, goodie bags, silent auctions, and the food there is unbelievable. Cropping for one day is only $25. Check out their website at www.CropCelebration.com.
I hope your day was as absolutely awesome as mine was.
Until next time, happy stamping and scrapping!

A Million Thanks to Scrappersaurus Customers...
Well, I have great news, and I have great news. Both family members' surgeries turned out very well, and both are on their way to recovery! I want to thank each and every one of you who helped by your prayers. I do believe in the power of prayer, and you all proved that to us these past few days. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I hope you all know that we do pray for all of you, as well, and a lot of you we even pray for and petition for specific outcomes as you ask us to. We care about all of our customers--from the ones who come every day to the ones who can only visit once in a while or can only purchase from us online. You all are what makes our little world turn, and we would not be here if it weren't for your support. So, once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Now, let's get onto other news: This past weekend was a blowout again!!! We had approximately 21 people cropping and we had two workshops. For both workshops, more people showed up than scheduled, and we had to scramble a bit to get supplies together, but I think everything went well and everybody had a great time. (See, that's why we ask you to call ahead and schedule, so we can be sure to have enough products on hand for you to take the workshops!)
Emery and I were busy, busy, busy all day long assisting customers in the store itself, and Felix was off playing in the City Cup tournament for pool. And guess what? His team WON FIRST PLACE in the City Cup, thanks to him, several times!!! Each of his team members received a trophy and $500, and the establishment that sponsored his team received a trophy, as well. He is STILL exhausted!!!
We have so many things scheduled for this month... This weekend, Friday 02/13/09 we will close at 6:00 PM because the Eve parade will be rolling, and so many of our customers are in the parade that we felt we should be out there supporting them and taking photographs of them riding so they could come back and scrap their fun times. On Saturday 02/14/09 we will be open usual hours and cropping until Midnight. We've got a bunch of people signed up already, so call now to reserve your spot for this weekend if you are planning on coming and joining in the melee!!!
Have I mentioned that on Tuesdays the Catholic Apostolate holds ESL (English as a Second Language) classes here, teaching English through scrapbooking? The classes are held between 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM in the crop area.
Also, on Wednesdays there are two local teachers who are holding Spanish classes starting at 4:00 PM. There are two sessions each Wednesday, and they just started, so if you want your child to learn Spanish before it is offered to them in high school, now is the time to come and sign them up. We've even had adults requesting classes, so things have been jumping around here! If you're interested, please drop by the store and pick up a flyer, or if it is after hours, there are flyers and posters in the windows with more contact information.
Don't forget, the wonderfully uniquely talented designer Marah Johnson will be here, IN PERSON doing two workshops this month--Thursday 02/27/09 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday 02/28/09 from 12:30 to 2:30 PM. PLUS she's creating a surprise for us to raffle off to workshop participants. YOU may be able to actually own something this amazing designer has created with her very own hands!!! I have to tell you... I have personally experienced classes and one-on-one make and takes with Marah, and she is so creative and makes things look so easy to do, and they turn out to be absolute masterpieces!!! Plus, she's one of the most pleasant and interesting people I've ever met, and very easy to work with. We have a sample of each minibook you will be creating in the workshops she'll be doing here on the counter in the store.
Also on Friday 02/27/09 and Saturday 02/28/09 is Crop Celebration in Hammond, Louisiana, held as a charity crop for the Restoration House. Aside from it being a most worthy cause, it is a very social, cheery event that has silent auctions of products--both raw materials (like papers, kits, stamps, etc.) as well as finished pieces (like greeting card collections, minibooks, etc.)--raffles, door prizes, goodie bags, make and takes, and workshops. Plus, did I mention the food there is AWESOME??? I don't know who the chefs are, but they DEFINITELY get 5 stars in my book!!! Check them out at their website at www.CropCelebration.com. (Also, please note that where we are listed on the Vendor page, they have our old Metairie store listed, but, as you know, we did close the Metairie store in December. :( We currently only have a store in Mandeville, Louisiana.)
Okay, I can feel Gina wondering when I'm going to shut up, so I will. I hope you all have a fantastic rest of your week, and I look forward to seeing you all at the Eve parade Friday night or here cropping at the store on Saturday (if not sooner!).
Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

Prayers Needed
I don't usually use this blog for personal things, but tonight I am going to.
My young niece is undergoing very serious exploratory surgery tomorrow (Monday), and they will find out if she has cancer or not. She may come out okay, or she may come out having to have such extensive surgery that she will not be able to bear children. She's not even married yet. She has never been sick, and has never been in a hospital before. She and her mother, my sister, are terrified. Please pray for her. Her name is Hollie, and I love her more than she'll probably ever know. She's my Goddaughter and my only niece. If she makes it through this surgery and has a good outcome, she's only a semester away from being a Special Needs Teacher. She's extremely intelligent, hardworking, patient, kind, affectionate, and really cares about people. Please send her as much love and light and well-wishes that you can.
Secondly, I will have another family member undergoing surgery (more minor this time) on Tuesday. Please pray that all goes well for him. I love him immensely and hope he has a good outcome to his surgery as well. He has asked to remain anonymous, because a lot of our customers know all of our family members and he is a private person and does not like a lot of to-do. Please send him as much love, light, and well-wishes as you can. You can pray for "M" if you feel you need to name someone. God will understand who it is.
I want to thank all of you for all of your support of the store, and me, Felix, and Emery personally. We love you all and are here for YOU. Please help our family now in this time of our need with your prayers.

Marah Johnson Workshop / Hurricanes Workshop / Distress Layout Workshop
Marah Johnson's Workshop schedule has changed, so please take note!!! There will be a Thursday evening class (Feb. 26th) which will be the Safari book, and a Friday afternoon class (Feb. 27th) which will be the A-List book. PLEASE CALL US AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO LOCK IN YOUR SPOT!!! The phone number is 985-624-3338.
Now, on a totally different note, I'd like to share something special with you all. All of you who have met me and know me personally know just how much papercrafting (of all sorts) means to me, and how much I LOVE what I do. Thus said, you all know how thrilled I am when you give us feedback letting us know that all the hard work Felix, Emery, and I put into bringing you all wonderful and unique products is worth our while because you like what you find here. Well, I'd like to share a letter we received last night from a customer who visited us from out of town. It is this sort of thing exactly that makes us feel what we do is worth all those long, hard hours we put in. Here it is:
Dee,
You might not remember me, but I shopped at your wonderful store right after Christmas. I was visiting from Texas and was thrilled to be in a "real" scrapbook store--so thrilled in fact that I came to your store three times in the week that I was supposed to be visiting my family in Hammond! Now that I am back in Texas and scrapping with my girlfriends, I just had to tell you how many compliments I have gotten on the paper I purchased at Scrappersaurus. Every time I pull something out, someone asks, "Where did you get that paper?!" And they are very jealous of all my Stickles colors. ;-)
You've provided me with many hours of enjoyment and creativity. I look forward to seeing you all again this summer when I visit. I'll keep checking your website, too.
Sincerely,
T.R.
I have to tell you, I just about cried with joy when I read that letter. Thank you to ALL of you out there who let us know that you appreciate what we do. After all, we do it for YOU!!!
Remember that the Healing from the Hurricanes Workshop (first one) will be this Saturday at 11:00 AM. We have information posted on the website calendar that lets you know what it's all about. We have had a number of customers voicing their desire to do something with their hurricane photos or to put something together on the hurricanes. So, we worked really hard to come up with the topic list that you will see if you click on the class title for that day or cut and paste the following link into your browser: http://www.scrappersaurus.com/KatrinaWorkshop.html. We have a handout planned to give to participants that list many, many different links to gather even more information, news articles, and pictures from the different hurricanes (not just Katrina). Please consider coming. I know it won't be easy, but I do believe it will help you to feel better in the long run. We all know how soothing and therapeutic papercrafting is when we're really stressed out. We believe that papercrafting this very stressful subject will actually turn out to be a healing process for many. Please sign up now so we can ensure that you will receive a handout and all of the photographs we will be giving to each participant.
Also this Saturday is the Tim Holtz Extravaganza Distress Layout Workshop. Many of you have seen the sample on the counter at the check-out in the store. Heather will teach you many different ways to distress papers, photos, and fibers using different techniques and the multitude of products Tim Holtz has come up with just for distressing. If you have not signed up already for this Workshop, please do so now so we can make sure we have a kit put together and ready for everyone who wishes to take the Workshop. You will leave with a finished layout, tag, and some Tim Holtz product.
I hope to see you all this weekend. Until next time, happy scrapping and stamping!

AWESOME Crop this weekend!!!
WOW!!! What an awesome Saturday crop we had!!! To start off with, when we arrived (late, due to Felix's addiction to Starbucks), there were at least 10 people waiting at the door, ready to shop, crop, and have an absolutely fantastic day of fun. The day was jam-packed with nonstop action, and I personally didn't get the opportunity to sit down at all until 2:30 PM!!! In addition to an all-day crop, we had a Cricut I workshop, and the Layout of the Month Workshop using Fancy Pants' Arctic Chill collection.
We had our wonderful, ever-loyal Dino Divas from the Southshore, which included (in no particular order, just my memory): Liz, Michelle, Yvonne, Nina, Joan, Tammy, and Rahema. Nina's friend, Annette, came by a little later in the day to join in the fun. We had some wonderful Northshore customers come also: Toby, Harriet, Jennifer, Lindsey, Patsy, Betty Jo, Laura, Ashley, Kyleigh, Tanya, and Jenny. I think that's all of them (if I forgot somebody, please forgive me, it was REALLY a hectic day!). So, that made 18 people cropping. We had to put several of them in the Digital area, and then had to boot them over to the Sale Table once the Cricut class began in the Digital area! It was quite the party! But in all the melee, I think everybody had a fantastic time and lots of fun.
On a very disappointing note, we had to turn away at least 8 people who called throughout the day wanting to come crop... :( I cannot stress enough the importance of calling ahead and reserving your spot... We already have people scheduled for crops through the middle of March. Yes, we DO still have spots left, but we are already scheduling, so it's never too early to call and reserve your spot. We really hate to turn anybody away. Also, PLEASE call ASAP if you're wanting to take workshops, too, because those are filling up quickly, as well. Now that we only have the Mandeville store, we're trying to take care of people from as far away as Luling, Avondale, Belle Chasse, Houma, Slidell, Pearl River, Folsom.... you get the idea... We limit our workshops to ensure all participants have some one-on-one instruction if necessary during the workshop. We don't lecture, we have hands-on funtime. No one will walk away from a Scrappersarus Workshop with any doubt that they did not get their money's worth and more!
We also had tons of customers, many new and many who had already shopped with us before. We had several who had initially purchased from us online, and were in town visiting relatives and decided to look us up. We were so honored that they thought so highly of the store, and found our items to be unique. We work really hard for all of you to bring you the best we can find. Including bringing in big-name designers, like MARAH JOHNSON of Creative Imaginations! We still have a few spots left for the workshops she's doing for us on February 27th, so if you want to join us, please call ASAP to reserve your spot. The actual samples of what you'll be making are on the counter at the shop (as well as on our website), so come by and see them, or visit www.Scrappersaurus.com. Check out Marah's blog at http://marah_johnson.typepad.com/ where you will see US listed in the upper right column under her upcoming workshops. If you wish to see some of her current collections being offered by Creative Imaginations, visit their website: http://www.creativeimaginations.us/store/CI_MarahJohnson_startpage.php.
We have some other REALLY fantastic workshops coming up, so check them out on our website calendar at http://www.scrappersaurus.com/February09.html. Right now I'm twisting Felix's arm to complete the March calendar, because I've got stuff scheduled that he doesn't have on there yet.... Feeeelixxxxx!!!!
And, last but most definitely NOT least, I wanted to tell my wonderful friend Tanya happy 40th birthday!!! Of course, she probably won't even know about it because she doesn't "do computers", so if you see her, let her know I posted it in the blog!
Until next time, Happy Scrapping and Stamping!

Blog HIJACK! Marah Johnson Comes to Scrappersaurus
Hello everyone! This is Felix! Shhhh! I just cannot contain myself and this news, so I am hijacking Dee's Blog to spread the word!
Marah Johnson is COMING to town! This is as awesome for scrapbookers as Santa is the rest of us! Not that she is anything like Santa. I mean, for one, she is a girl, she is skinny, and I will just stop there.. haha..
Anyway, she is coming to Scrappersaururs on February 27th to teach TWO of her wonderful projects using two of her wonderful lines! The samples are posted on our website - www.scrappersaurus.com and they are two of the most adorable mini-books designed and crafted BY Marah herself! She will walk you through her talents and thoughts while you re-create art!
If you are intersted in attending one or both of these workshops, they are just 40.00 each, or two for 75! A bargain, definitely a bargain when you see these books and you get to rub sholders with the likes of Marah! She is a fabulous all around person. Meet a true artist!
See you soon and shhhh Dee don't know I posted this.
